Dear Bloggers.

Dear Bloggers/*Blogders,

*For people who know the term and have been at the blogging scene for quite some time.

May we have more people to blog more often. Or else this will be dead. Personally, i have been missing Kenny Sia's and Xiaxue's humor. The only humorous one online all the time is Mr. Brown. Yes back to the topic. We want this blog alive and not "seemingly alive but dead" kind of blog. But if you have nothing to say, don't force it. If you want to share videos or photos, you are more than welcomed to do so. I love controversial topics but there is nothing so much controversial in Symphonic Wind music. Anyway, just help keep this blog up and running or else, it is as good as nothing.

P.S I am a big fan of Kenny Sia.

P.P.S Keep this blog alive (i have been reiterating this for how many times?)

A trip down memory lane

I have written something in the moblog long ago in september 2005.

"I can see how the moblog seems dead but alive. If anyone asked you whether you are alive? Just say that you are alive but not kicking. Or perhaps a warped idea of ‘not alive but kicking’, not that it makes any sense anyway."

I used to like the usage of oxymoronic style of writing. That was back then. The moblog was up long ago in 2005 but it seems that moblog is a very very very complicated domain. Now there is this blog which started out about 2 days ago and gaining popularity. I hope this blogger is a good domain which many of you are familiar with. Laughs out loud. [ Remember standard english. =) ]

A huge feeling of nostalgia overwhelmed me when I found these articles. To be exact, blog entries by an css alumni (not a band member). Those of you who knows him, he is Choon Hoe. This entry can be found in 2004.

Go take a look at the photos. This was the first NDP which band donned on their uniforms and march with pride and brought the sky down with Livin' La Vida Loca.

Oh, heres another. http://winsor.blogspot.com/2004/08/schools-ndp.html

I was a sec 1 back then. I was quite naive back then. But we tasted pure success and euphoria after the performance. Even the sec 1s (my batch) could play the piece, Livin La Vida Loca. Without the constant naggings, we would not have done well. I quite appreciate it. We didn't learn the piece ourselves. We were forced to actually. But after the concert, I didn't care how they(leaders) "tortured" us anymore. I am just quite elated that the band performed well as a whole.

I still remember the days where we trained long and hard for SYF. Bronze was a good start. I still remember that there was a sec 1(2004) who joined us somewhere around december. She caught up with the flow pretty fast and could play a major scale in a week time. It is a matter of few months before SYF and she knows that this is important for band and also to herself. She is Sylvia, clarinetist. I'm proud of such a person who acheived quite alot in such in a period time. Two words, patience and endurance.

I felt that patience acheive more than force. I am not talking about sectional leaders forcing you to practice or bring back your instruments. It is more about patience on oneself that you all must have. If you tried but failed, try again. Take your time and don't try to do too much. Don't force yourself to do what is not practical.

Never give up the music because to think it is too hard. I know every instrument have their own difficulties. Patience is what drives oneself to challenge the limits, and not forcing. In the end, if you have given up, it is not that you lost your patience but you forced too much and gave up. Take for example Sylvia in sec 1 in 2004, she is patient with herself and it was patience was what made her acheive so far.

Now i felt this band has the potential to acheive alot in the long-run. All you need to do is spend more time with your instruments and figure out those problems slowly.
