It was just like last year when Mdm Tan was around (duh, she was around last year!).It was just like last year when we gave all we got for the marching assesment. It was just like 2 years ago when we blew all we can for the first ever SYF.It's just like this thursday that we would be doing it again, but this time, with a real challenge.Appearing after and before gold bands wouldn't be smooth sailing. All the best everyone.
I didn't know how else to motivate the band. This post sounds nonsense though.Work harder band.I wouldn't wanna waste my four years in school doing nothing.I'd be the happiest guy in this world if we got a silver or at least maintain a bronze!

A Reminder to all...
Sorry for the disturbance during the early morning but I just want to make an announcement for this post. This is specially for all Band members who are participating in the S.Y.F. 2007.
Please remind the absentees in your own sections to turn up for the next Band practice, which is on Friday, 2.30pm. The attendance has been quite irregular at times, especially when it is just after the festive mood. Hence, I would need every one's cooperation to make things work.
By the way, for your information, we have 1 more month to practice. Which means that there are approximately 11 Band sessions before the competition. That is why everyone must turn up for the remaining practices to make sure that we could polish the pieces.
I hope everyone would enjoy the remaining 11 sessions, especially the Secondary 4s and 5s (if there's any...) who would be probably stepping down once S.Y.F. 2007 is over. For those who are participating in such competition for the first time, treat it as a life learning experience. No matter what, no one is allow to give up. At least put your best effort in it!
Remember, 'One Band, One Sound, One Spirit'. Good luck everyone!! Smile!!! :)

I felt that this is what some sectional leaders are facing.
That the sectional leaders have difficulties giving the consent forms or collecting it from their section. It is either the members come a few minutes before school starts or they leave the school straight away after it ends. I hope that every single one of you could just take the initiative to get it from your sectional leaders or give it to your sectional leaders..
I hope that everyone well have the sense of urgency and to be quiet at tuning or combine practice time, hope that what happened on wednesday will not happen again.

baby rayner
Hello my beloved band members,
It's so heartening to know that you guys managed to recruit 45 members and had great fun during the Orientation. It brought back beautiful memories of the times I had together with you guys. Tough (definitely, for I'm such a TYRANT!) but immensely fulfilling. :) I miss you guys. Ha!
Remember, the potent combination of determination, passion and the 'never say die' spirit yields nothing but definite success!
KEEP the 45 sec 1s.. Don't let them go...whahaha!
Train hard for SYF. Remember, work hard now. Hard work WILL always be rewarded. It's a universal truth. Nothing can change it. Live your lives with no regrets.. Gold with honours.. nothing less....
" if you aim for the sky, chances are you will land on the tree top. If you aim for the tree top, chances are you will land on the ground. If you just aim for the ground, you might just go underground!"
" In the battle between the river and the rocks, the river always win, not through strength but sheer PERSISTENCE"
PS: I have just delivered my baby boy, Rayner, on 1 Jan 2007. Enjoy some of his photos taken in his first week of life :)

Wishlist
Hi, Fikri here.
Personally, I want a new band T shirt. Just a random thought.
But anyway, here is my wishlist for band
Band
1)More unity. More bonding. SYF Gold this year.
2) For the band to have a first annual concert this year. December perhaps?
3) Sec 1s this year can play within 5 months (like our batch) and at 2 grade level.
4)Marching to be top-notch
5) NEW BAND T SHIRT.
6) A suit(tuxedo) for band during formal perfomances for speech day.
7) To participate in the next NBC 2nd division and attain Gold at a percentage of 85%
8) CSS to have a lift so that energy carrying instruments is not wasted
9)More people to post more posts at this blog.
10) refer to point 8 and 9.
